  • What is micropigmentation?
It is an aesthetic treatment where pigment is implanted in the dermis (which is located just below the epidermis), it is a cosmetic technique similar to the tattoo but more superficial and delicate, the objective is to produce patterns that resemble makeup, but semi-permanently, mainly on the eyebrows, lips and eyelids.
  • What types of procedures can be done?
There are several options and techniques for applying micropigmentation, with the client's needs and tastes being the determining factor in choosing the procedure. The options are: Eyebrows: thread by thread and/or shaded Eyes: Full liner (catty type) or Soft Liner (lashes only) eyeliner Lips: Lipstick-like effect on the lips (a little more translucent) Areolae: hyper-realistic creation or correction for anyone who needs area pigmentation
  • How long does micropigmentation last?
Procedures are considered semi-permanent, however, they clear up over time and may need to be redone every 1 – 2 years. When we insert the pigment into the skin, the organism begins to break down the particles to expel them, so the procedure gradually clears up as the immune system expels the pigment, it does not disappear overnight. The frequency of sessions depends on several factors, including: the color of the pigment used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure), skin types (oily skin tends to last less), daily care of each client (example: people who have acid treatments on the face tend to last less because the acid lightens the procedure), immune system, among others. Due to the above, we cannot guarantee the duration time as it is different for each person. *There are even rare cases in which the pigment does not fix (such as when the person has anemia or some other condition that impairs fixation)
  • What factors can impair the duration of micropigmentation?
Exposure to the Sun: it can shorten the duration, so after healing it is important to use sunscreen on the micropigmented area. Regeneration of skin cells: the longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment remains, that is, in more mature skins, the duration is longer. Using acids on the face: they fade the procedure. Use of some remedies such as Roaccutane that dry and flake the skin. Cigarette: Smokers tend to have worse wound healing, among other factors.
  • How long does it take to make a section?
Depends on the type of procedure (area to be pigmented), but usually lasts between 1h 30min to 2h 30min.
  • What will my micropigmentation look like right after the procedure?
Be patient. Right after the procedure, the color will be very dark and can be a little scary, but it will lighten in the following days and stabilize during the healing process. Wait for the indicated thirty days (until complete healing is not possible to assess the final result) and when you return we will assess the retention of the pigment and make the necessary adjustments, everyone heals differently so if yours does not heal perfectly after the first session don't worry, we can make some adjustments to the retouching.
  • Is retouching necessary?
In some areas such as the areola, lips and eyes, the skin has a very good fixation and retouching is hardly necessary (it can vary depending on several factors as explained in the question regarding the duration), but the eyebrow has a skin with fixing a little more complicated and often the color is not perfect after the healing process. For this reason, at least one touch-up is recommended after the healing time, which would be 30 to 60 days (healing time depends on the age of the client)
  • What color is used in eyebrow micropigmentation?
The mixture of pigments to define the color that will be used is done according to the color of the client's natural eyebrow hairs, that is, we make a tone close to the natural color of the hair. We can make several variations of brown, blonde and red.

  • Do these procedures cause pain?
Most people report feeling uncomfortable, but this will depend on how sensitive they are. After a first pass with the machine on the skin, we use an anesthetic ointment to reduce the discomfort that may be caused during the procedure.
  • Is it safe to perform these procedures?
We follow all disinfection and sterilization guidelines required by health surveillance (some described below): We use new, sterile needles for each procedure. The needles are opened in front of each client; All disposable items are disposed of properly and immediately in specific containers for this type of material after the procedure; Use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Gloves, mask, aprons. The place where the service is performed is cleaned frequently to avoid any possibility of contamination.
  • Is there a possibility of side effects during or after the procedure?
Slight swelling in the eye area and mouth can be expected after the procedure, eyebrows usually feel itchy due to the formation of a scab. The effects will depend on the work done. For example, a light liner (liner on the lashes) on the eyes will cause less puffiness than a thicker liner, which also applies to work done on the lips. Also, some people have more sensitive skin and swell or redden more easily than others, and some may even experience minor bleeding. Bruises are rare, especially on the eyebrows, but can happen on the eyes and lips.
  • Do pigments cause allergies?
People can develop an allergy to anything, anytime. However, pigment allergies are considered rare. We use hypoallergenic pigments, we have never had any reports of any type of adverse reaction. If the client is allergic to specific pigments, he must inform the professional at the time the professional is filling out the Anamnesis form.
